Scripture Memory Monday

I was talking with a friend yesterday who is dealing with a wounded heart and the need to forgive. While contemplating the circumstance she undesirably found herself in and experiencing hurt, anger, etc., this friend testified how the Lord recalled to her mind Colossians 3:12 that we memorized last Monday. However, she went on to memorize several of the following verses in that chapter, and I thought we would do the same this week. It is beautiful how the Lord is so faithful to bring to our minds His words of Truth that we need to hear, specifically in moments of weakness and temptations. And when the Holy Spirit speaks His Truth to our hearts, may we do our part in being faithful to head His words of Life and freedom!

"...bearing with one another,
and forgiving each other,
whoever has a complaint against anyone;
just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.
14 Beyond all these things put on love,
which is the perfect bond of unity."
Colossians 3: 13 & 14 (NASB)

We will stop there for today, but I anticipate finishing out the chapter next week. Happy meditating!

Thank you sweet Katie for all of your kind words & prayers for me. My heart rejoices that I have such a wonderful friend who loves me so! I feel that I was lead to that passage last week so that I would be prepared for the events that occurred this weekend. I am glad to know that in all situations we find ourselves in, God's word always offers comfort and shelter. Thank you for literally being a shoulder to cry on for me, and your words of encouragement have helped me tremendously in facing this issue. Things have actually been somewhat resolved, and I know that the Lord will continue to help me heal and forgive. Much love to you, my very dear friend, and I hope to see you soon! :)

I also wanted to post my verse(s) for this week. Lamentations 3:21 - 23

"But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

In the ESV study Bible, the note for v. 23 says "Each day presents another opportunity to experience God's grace." How true this is! God's grace certainly is new each morning, and He has been so faithful to lavish me with His grace. What amazing love He has for us!

Sweet Melanie ~
Thank you so much for writing. I am so thankful for the grace that God has given you to handle this situation in a way that brings glory to Him and shows others what a difference Christ makes in a life. When we face adversity, others are watching. The way you have handled this is such a testimony.

And thank you for sharing the Lamentations passage. What a beautiful one, a favorite of mine. I pray that meditating on that this week will bring refreshment to your soul. I love you.
