This World is Not My Home

Before I share anything else, I wanted to make note of what the Lord reminded me this morning.  As I drove home from taking John David to preschool this morning, I saw numerous cars driving down the highway, getting to where they were scheduled to be.  I was overwhelmed with the reality of how empty life is without Christ.  The rut of daily living would be seem nothing short of pointless drudgery if Christ had not died and risen again in order to give us life and salvation, hope and purpose, joy and peace.  My heart felt heavy for those who do not daily experience the joy of the Lord, and my heart was relieved that there is more to life than this!

While driving home, I was listening to one of my favorite songs, "Knees to the Earth" by Watermark.  It reminds us that Jesus Christ is our only worth, and that we should embrace Him as we walk this earth.  This was very timely, considering the fact that I was going to meet up with David and head downtown where we would be closing on our first home.

Thank you, Lord, for reminding me to cling solely to You - and not to any earthly possessions - during our pilgrimage here.  I am so thankful for your most timely lessons.  Thank you, Kind Father, that this world is not our home!

Signing about 3 trees worth of papers!

Our wonderful, patient, thorough, (did I mention PATIENT!) realtor.

Handing over the keys!

First to operate the garage door opener

David, excited to drive into the garage!

Unlocking the door as the new owner

Here we go!

Excited to walk into our new home.
Though David had returned with the inspector,
I had only seen it once during that initial time with our realtor.

Turning on the lights!
(cheesy, I know...but marking memories, right?!)

We haven't been able to take any of our family to see our home yet.
Until we can, these pictures are for you guys.
