Thursday's Thanksgivings

I have been thinking so much today about where I was five years ago, and those thoughts have led to MUCH thanksgiving!  David and I have wished one another a "Happy Anniversary Eve" several times throughout the day.  Tomorrow we will be celebrating 5 years of marriage.  It is hard to believe how fast time flies!  Yet, as you often hear people say, it is also hard to remember life without my husband.

I must mention another huge cause for thanksgiving here.  I praise the Lord for the beautiful example of marriage that my mom and dad have set before me all of my life.  And I give thanks that my sweet mother taught me how to begin praying for my own husband at a very young age.  She even encouraged me to give him a name (which made praying for him even that much more enjoyable) and to write him letters, especially on those days that waiting for him was extra hard.  At that time I referred to my future husband as MAC (My Awesome Christian) - for I was confident (or very hopeful!) that he indeed would be! :)  Of course without knowing it, it was David that I had been praying for all that time, and my heart was already committed to him.  I guess that's another reason why it's kind of hard to remember life without him; I had been in love with him - without knowing who he really was - for so long!  Praise and glory to the Lord for His grace in this.  And thank you, Sweet T, for teaching me so faithfully and thoroughly.  I am forever grateful.

So, to David - on the eve of our 5 years together as husband and wife - I want to tell you how thankful I am that, by the Sovereign hand of God, you chose me to be the one to share life with you.  Like I remind you often, I realize this was a very coveted position, and I am so grateful and honored to have been granted it!  Bearing the title of Mrs. David Kizziah is one of my most treasured blessings.  I truly am so thankful.  Life with you is wonderful; you fill each day with joy, much fun and laughter, and overwhelming love and affirmation.  I praise the Lord for how He so graciously, in His beautiful providence, united our hearts together.  And, if He sees fit, I can't wait to spend the rest of my years by your side, "until death do us part."  I love you, my husband, and I thank you for wanting to be my best friend.  I'm so glad it was you...

what a joy that you found your MAC and that he was more than even we could ask or think.

Here's to a lifetime of love, joy and service to our Sovereign God Who gives us such wonderful gifts.

Ready to celebrate my 30th after we get your little brother married. Love you sweetie. Thank you for being so teachable throughout life. What a blessing you are to your mom.

Thanks so much, ladies.

And Jennifer, I am so thankful that you were able to share in our celebration 5 years ago. That meant so much - so do your encouraging words.

Thank you for always encouraging me, Sweet T. You are the best!
