Thursday's Thanksgivings

There is much at the forefront of my mind to be thankful for as I sit down to type this morning.

First of all, I am thankful to be settling into our new home.  Though it hasn't yet sunken in that we really live here, we are becoming more accustom to our new abode.  Since yesterday, I have been trying to be intentional about paying attention to street names in order to give good directions (which I am terrible at doing!) to family members and other visitors.  I have even found new pleasure in sweeping the floors; I guess since it is still all so new to me, even daily chores are fun (for the time being :).  I am thankful that we are so close to John David's preschool (I've always struggled with punctuality, and close proximity aids in this area I am constantly trying to remedy!), and I'm so glad that Publix (my favorite grocery store) is just around the corner.  These are huge causes for thanksgiving in my book!

I am so thankful for David, as well as all of our friends and family who have helped us in the moving process.  Moving is NOT at the top of my 'favorites' list!  David has loaded up and delivered our belongings in shifts (which is a HUGE plus in still living in the same town.  To me, it's not so overwhelming this way.), and I have been grateful to be mostly on the unpacking end.  Both sets of our parents have aided in caring for the children during this time, as well as helping us move.  My dear mother-in-law even cleaned our former home yesterday once the final boxes were cleared out.  Thanks a million, JoJo!  My friend, Melanie, has come over the past couple of days to assist me with unpacking, play with the children, and provide some grown up conversation.  All of these things have helped me to not feel overwhelmed, to unpack as I go, and to make taking care of the kids my focus.  I am so thankful!

Last, but not least, I am so excited that my brother, Kameron, gets married this weekend.  I thought I could get all of my tears out (of joy, of course ;) before the big day, but I don't think that's possible.  I recently bought waterproof mascara.  Hopefully I won't be too much of a mess! Thank you, Lord, for the gift of marriage!  I am so thankful to get to celebrate with my little brother (as well as my big brother, who will be celebrating 6 years of being married to his precious bride on the SAME day!!)   Praise the Lord for May 22nd!!
